Police Open Fire During Operation in Gothatar, Kathmandu

In a recent incident in Gothatar, Kathmandu, the police had to resort to using firearms to apprehend drug traffickers. The police were forced to open fire during an operation aimed at targeting drug dealers.

The operation resulted in an injury to an Indian citizen named Mohammad Karim, who was shot in the right leg by the police. The authorities claim they fired a single shot in self-defense due to the actions of the drug dealers.

The police successfully apprehended a 37-year-old suspect named Harak Limbu, a resident of Ward No. 8 in Kachanakabal Rural Municipality, Jhapa. In the process, they confiscated 200 grams of illicit drugs, specifically brown heroin, from the suspects.

Furthermore, the authorities recovered a pistol, three rounds of ammunition, and weighing scales from the individuals involved in the drug trafficking operation. Currently, the injured individual, Karim, is receiving medical treatment at Kantipur Hospital.
