Clash in Balkhu, Police Fires Tear Gas and Water Cannons

A clash unfolded between the Durga Prasai group and the police in Balkhu, Kathmandu.

The incident occurred after demonstrators attempted to breach the police cordon, heading towards Kalimati.

The confrontation intensified following an announcement made by an individual from the stage at the performance venue, expressing the group’s intention to proceed towards Tripureshwar.

Ignoring restrictions, the protesters moved from Balkhu chowk towards the road leading to Tripureshwar via Kalimati.

To disperse the crowd, the police resorted to the use of force, employing tear gas and water cannons.

In response, protesters retaliated by hurling bricks and stones at law enforcement.
