Clash Erupts as Durga Prasain-led Civil Rescue Campaign Faces Off with Police at Gaushala Protest
Tensions escalated in Kathmandu as the Durga Prasain-led civil rescue campaign clashed with law enforcement during a demonstration at Gaushala. The clash unfolded during a program organized by the Dharmaguru Parivar Nepal at Gaushala Chowk, held in support of Prasain’s civil rescue initiative.
Protestors, including Prasain himself, gathered and blocked the road, conducting a meeting to amplify their demands. As the police attempted to clear the road, the situation turned volatile, with protestors hurling stones and law enforcement responding with tear gas rounds.
During the protest, Srinivasa Acharya and other speakers delivered provocative speeches, urging the intensification of the movement. Subsequently, the police detained some protesters, including Acharya, who was arrested after his provocative address.
