NRB Reports Net Profit of Rs. 87.6 Billion in Fiscal Year 2079/80
Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has announced a remarkable net profit exceeding 87 billion rupees in the fiscal year 2079/80. The audited financial statements released by the central bank reveal a net profit of Rs. 87,603,745,448, showcasing a substantial upsurge of 29.25 percent from the previous fiscal year’s net profit of 61.98 billion rupees.
The impressive financial performance is attributed to a significant rise in interest income for NRB during the fiscal year. The bank earned 47.228 billion rupees from foreign currency and an additional 15.34 billion rupees from transactions in Nepali currency. This contributed to a total interest income of 62.57 billion rupees, resulting in a robust operating income of 66.92 billion rupees.
Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari presented NRB’s annual report for the fiscal year 2079-80 to Finance Minister Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat earlier today. The report highlights the bank’s effective financial strategies and prudent management that led to this remarkable financial milestone.
