PMs Prachanda and Modi Reconnect After Five-Month Hiatus

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ engaged in a brief yet impactful meeting with India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi after a five-month hiatus.

The leaders, who last met during Prachanda’s visit to India in May, reconvened on the sidelines of the 28th United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP) in Dubai, UAE.

The leaders focused their discussions on addressing the aftermath of the recent earthquake that struck the western region of Nepal. According to a press statement released by the Embassy of Nepal in Abu Dhabi, Prime Minister Modi expressed India’s readiness to provide essential support to the victims of the earthquake.

In addition to the bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Modi, Prachanda held discussions with Mr. Miguel Mario Díaz-Canel y Bermúdez, the Chairman of G77 and China, and the President of the Republic of Cuba.

The talks between the two leaders encompassed various aspects of bilateral and multilateral cooperation. They deliberated on strategies to mitigate the impact of climate change and explored avenues to secure financial resources for the most vulnerable countries.
