Seven-Day Prohibitory Order in Mahendranagar

In response to a heated dispute between political parties regarding the placement of statues in the Sambidhan Chowk vicinity, the District Administration Office in Kanchanpur has implemented a seven-day prohibitory order in Mahendranagar.

The decision to impose the order was taken after discussions within the District Security Committee, following the guidelines of the Local Administration Act 2028, 6 (3A). The order encompasses the Sambidhan Chowk area and extends to the major road sections surrounding the statues of Dasharath Chand and Madan Bhandari.

Gopal Kumar Adhikari, Chief District Officer (CDO), stated that the prohibitory order aims to maintain peace and prevent any potential escalation of tensions in the region. The specific restrictions include a ban on gatherings of more than five people, organized assemblies, and various other activities within the specified areas.

This move comes as a precautionary measure to ensure public safety and stability in Mahendranagar amidst the ongoing disagreement over the placement of statues, reflecting the local administration’s commitment to maintaining law and order. The prohibitory order is set to be in effect for the next seven days, with authorities closely monitoring the situation and taking necessary actions to address any emerging issues.
