Education system needs to face multidimensional challenges of globalization, PM argues

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said Nepal requires an education system that enables citizens to overcome the multidimensional challenges resulting from globalization.

Addressing the golden jubilee celebration of Janata Secondary School of Bardibas in Mahottari district on Sunday, the PM said the countries like Nepal are facing multidimensional challenges from globalization in the current digital age.

The PM said that school curriculums should be revisited from the foundational level to make them contextual, the PM’s Secretariat shared. “Timely revision in our curriculum from the foundation has become a national necessity. Our education should produce patriotic, responsive, scientifically progressive and self-reliant human resource,” according to the PM.

PM Dahal expressed happiness over the conduct of ‘education conclave-2080’. He also informed them about his cognizance of school plan to cater competitive education by formulating a 10-year-long strategy.

“I believe the school will achieve success in providing technical education that promotes self-entrepreneurship,” he viewed.

Moreover, PM Dahal said although education is a significant aspect in life, it is not ultimate achievement. Student today is policy maker and implementer tomorrow, he reminded.

Education should prepare accountable, progressive and foresighted human resource that contributes well to country’s economy.

According to him, time has come to quality transformation in education to fit the changed context- federal democratic republic. PM Dahal assured the education bill would be passed by the parliament by addressing the concerned raised from various sides.
