Dues to sugarcane farmers to be cleared immediately
The incumbent government has decided to immediately ensure the remaining payment- Rs 520 million- to the sugarcane farmers.
The meeting of the ministers and secretary of the concerned Ministry convened in the presence of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ on Sunday took the decision to this effect, said Surya Kiran Sharma, press coordinator of the PM.
Present in the meeting were Minister for Finance Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat, Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development Dr Beduram Bhusal, Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Ramesh Rijal, Chief Secretary Dr Baikuntha Aryal and the secretaries of Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development and Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies among others.
During the meeting, PM Dahal instructed the ministers and secretaries to show willingness for formulation and implementation of production-oriented policies, plans and programmes by prioritizing agriculture sector and farmers, it was shared.
