Bipin Joshi’s Whereabouts Unknown Amidst Ongoing Israel-Hamas Conflict

In a distressing turn of events, the location of Bipin Joshi, a Nepali student held captive since the October 7 Hamas attack in southern Israel, remains undisclosed, amplifying the challenges faced by the government in securing his repatriation.

Hamas has declared a halt to hostage releases, linking it to a demand for a complete cessation of aggression. This stance has complicated efforts to bring Joshi back, leaving his fate hanging in the balance.

The Nepali government has actively sought support from Qatar and international communities to aid in Joshi’s rescue, intensifying diplomatic efforts. Despite previous exchanges between Israel and Hamas, Joshi was excluded from the list, raising concerns about his safety.

The toll of the conflict is alarming, with 10 Nepali students confirmed dead, and an Israeli report citing staggering numbers – 20,000 deaths in Gaza, including 8,000 children and 6,200 women.

Presently, Hamas reportedly holds approximately 120 hostages. Ongoing negotiations in Cairo, Egypt, aimed at reaching a new truce, faced a setback on Wednesday as discussions failed to yield an agreement.

As the situation continues to unfold, the uncertainty surrounding Joshi’s fate adds urgency to diplomatic endeavors. This underscores the pressing need for a resolution amid the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict, with global attention turning toward securing the safe return of Bipin Joshi.
