PPMO Takes Action: Blacklists Construction Companies Involved in Mid-hill Highway Project
The Public Procurement Monitoring Office (PPMO) has taken stringent action against alleged misconduct in the construction of the Mid-hill Highway, blacklisting prominent construction companies and imposing penalties. The decision, based on recommendations from the Pushpalal (Mid-hill) Highway Project Directorate, Pushpalal Highway Planning Office, Parbat, reflects the commitment to ensuring accountability and adherence to regulations in public procurement processes.
The MP-SCF-ECC JV, a joint venture involving MP Sitani and Sons led by Aditya Sitani, Surya Construction Firm Pvt Ltd led by Surya Bahadur Khadka, and Elite Construction Pvt Ltd led by Surendraraj Poudel, has been barred from participating in any public procurement process for the next three years. This significant penalty underscores the severity of the alleged misconduct and serves as a deterrent against future violations.
In a parallel development, Bhumi Infrastructure Pvt Ltd from Morang, led by key figure Bhabesh Bohora, has also faced a two-year blacklist following a recommendation from the Pokhara Metropolitan Corporation. This move amplifies the commitment to maintaining the integrity of public procurement processes and ensuring that entities found in violation face appropriate consequences.
Persons and entities included in the blacklist are prohibited from engaging in the procurement activities of any public body for the specified duration. The PPMO has communicated this disciplinary measure through a public notice, emphasizing the gravity of the consequences for companies found breaching established regulations. The blacklisting serves as a clear message that misconduct will not be tolerated, and strict measures will be taken to uphold the standards of transparency and accountability in public projects.
