Monarchy Not The Solution, Unity Is: Oli

In a noteworthy address at the 48th National Unity and Reconciliation Day program organized by the Nepali Congress, CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli strongly asserted that the prospect of the monarchy’s return in Nepal is non-existent. Emphasizing unity among republicans, Chairman Oli stated that they are committed to preventing the resurgence of the monarchy and reinforcing the republic.

During his address, Chairman Oli questioned the idea that a monarchy would strengthen the nation, emphasizing the role of the people in safeguarding the country. He dismissed the notion of a monarchy, which he claimed had impoverished the Nepali people for an extended period, as neither theoretically nor ideologically conceivable.

“The idea of a monarchy is not feasible or desirable under the current circumstances. Democracy is a competitive system that must be robust, and our commitment to preventing the resurgence of monarchy and dictatorship remains unwavering,” Oli affirmed.

Taking a dig at the Nepali Congress, Chairman Oli stressed the importance of prioritizing unity over divisive issues. He urged collective efforts directed towards strengthening democracy and promoting national harmony.

The event, attended by leaders from various political parties, including CPN Maoist Center, Janata Samajwadi Party, CPN Unified Socialist, LSP, Nepal Workers Peasants Party, and Rastriya Janamorcha, showcased a diverse representation of political ideologies coming together to commemorate National Unity and Reconciliation Day. Oli advocated for reconciliation among all parties supporting good governance, peace, development, and nationalism in the country.
