Bishwa Prakash Sharma Advocates Forward-Thinking Vision ’94 for National Progress

During the 48th National Unity and Reconciliation Day event organized by the Nepali Congress’s Bhaktapur District Committee, General Secretary Bishwa Prakash Sharma called for a paradigm shift towards a forward-thinking approach, emphasizing Vision ’94 over the electoral-centric ‘Mission 84’ for the nation’s development.

In his address on Monday, General Secretary Sharma urged a departure from election-focused concerns and emphasized the need to prioritize holistic development across all sectors. He encouraged collaboration among political parties to create a unified agenda for national progress, extending the focus beyond imminent elections and concentrating on development plans up to the year 2094 BS.

Highlighting the consensus achieved on constitutional matters, Sharma stressed the importance of inter-party cooperation to address remaining tasks in the peace process. He underscored the collective responsibility in nurturing ownership of the Constitution to propel the nation towards prosperity.

Addressing the issue of foreign employment, Sharma acknowledged the opportunities it presents due to the country’s significant population. He proposed redirecting efforts towards creating more employment options within the country, aiming to discourage Nepali citizens from seeking work abroad for extended periods. Sharma believes this strategy will foster a swift return of the workforce and expand the scope of foreign employment within the nation.

In conclusion, General Secretary Sharma called for a united effort in crafting a visionary path for Nepal’s future, steering away from short-term electoral goals and focusing on sustainable development for the benefit of all citizens.
