PM Prachanda Contemplates Cabinet Reshuffle for Enhanced Governance Efficiency

The ruling Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Centre) has revealed that Prime Minister Pushpa Kumar Dahal ‘Prachanda,’ is contemplating a reshuffle of the Council of Ministers to bolster the effectiveness of the government.

Agni Prasad Sapkota, spokesperson for the CPN (Maoist Centre), made this announcement during a press meeting held at the party’s central office in Paris Danda, where he was providing insights into the ‘Conclusion of Special Transformation Campaign.’

Sapkota conveyed that Prime Minister Prachanda’s expressions strongly suggest a potential cabinet reshuffle. He emphasized that as the government operates as a coalition, any decision in this regard will be reached only after thorough discussions with coalition partners.

“The Prime Minister is considering restructuring the cabinet, but this will only happen after extensive discussions with our coalition partners. The government’s efficiency is crucial, and if reshuffling ministers is necessary to ensure effective governance, it will be done,” stated Vice-Chairperson Sapkota.

He further explained, “A serious and concrete review has not taken place yet. The Prime Minister has sought direction regarding his expression, and a conclusive decision will only be reached after comprehensive discussions on the matter within the coalition.”

Spokesperson Sapkota highlighted the Prime Minister’s commitment to advancing the government’s work and asserted that the decision on the cabinet reshuffle would be made only after a thorough and constructive discussion within the coalition. The move, if implemented, aims to streamline and enhance the functioning of the government for the benefit of the nation.
