Nepal Airlines Pilot Faces Legal Action by CIAA for Alleged Forgery of Educational Credentials

The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has officially filed a charge sheet against Nepal Airlines’ pilot, Samrat Bahadur Shah, accusing him of presenting fake educational credentials in a bid to secure a promotion. The charge sheet was submitted to the Special Court in Kathmandu.

According to Namahari Ghimire, spokesperson for CIAA, the legal action comes after an investigation revealed that Shah had allegedly submitted fraudulent certificates to support his promotion from the position of junior captain to the eighth level – captain.

The investigation conducted by CIAA exposed that Shah had produced counterfeit documents, claiming to have completed his intermediate level with first division honors at VSJ Inter College in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. The spokesperson emphasized that these credentials were found to be false after a thorough examination.

The legal proceedings against Samrat Bahadur Shah underscore the commitment of authorities to maintain the integrity of professional qualifications within the aviation sector. Nepal Airlines and the aviation community at large are closely monitoring the developments in this case, as the outcome may have broader implications for the industry’s standards and the trust placed in its professionals.
