Court Orders Release of Tootle’s Founder Sixit Bhatta
The Kathmandu District Court has issued a directive to release Sixit Bhatta, the founder of Tootle, on bail. This decision comes after Judge Shakuntala Karki’s bench rejected the police’s request to continue holding Bhatta in custody. Bhatta had been arrested on Thursday night, and the police sought permission for an extended custody period to investigate allegations of copyright infringement and treachery.
Despite the police’s efforts to keep Bhatta in custody for further investigation, the Kathmandu District Court, considering the ongoing legal proceedings, ordered his release on bail. It was revealed that the dispute related to the charges against Bhatta is currently sub judice in the Patan High Court, prompting the district court to allow the investigation to proceed without keeping him in custody.
The court’s decision highlights the complexity of the legal matters surrounding Bhatta’s arrest, with the dispute involving copyright infringement and treachery allegations now set to unfold in the Patan High Court. The release on bail is expected to provide Bhatta with an opportunity to actively participate in his defense as the legal proceedings continue.
As the case progresses, both legal teams will present their arguments in the Patan High Court, shedding further light on the intricacies of the charges brought against Sixit Bhatta and the circumstances surrounding the dispute.
