Decline in Gold and Silver Prices

In a notable turn of events, gold and silver prices witnessed a decline on January 8, 2024, sending ripples through the market. According to the latest data from the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, the gold price took a dip by Rs 700 per tola today.
As of today, the price of fine gold stands at Rs 118,800 per tola, while tejabi gold is reported at Rs 118,250 per tola. This marks a significant drop from the previous day’s prices, where gold was valued at Rs 119,500 per tola and tejabi gold at Rs 118,950 per tola on January 7.
In addition to the decline in gold prices, the silver market also experienced a downturn, with a decrease of Rs 5 per tola. The current silver price is recorded at Rs 1,415 per tola.
