Nepal Investment Board Announces Revised Dates for Third Investment Summit

The Nepal Investment Board, under the leadership of Finance Minister Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat, has officially unveiled the revised dates for the eagerly anticipated third Investment Summit. The decision, reached during the second meeting of the directive committee held on Friday, comes after careful considerations and preparations.

Originally scheduled for March 21-22, the Investment Summit will now take place on April 28 and 29, as confirmed by Sushil Bhatta, the Chief Executive Officer of the Investment Board. The rescheduling decision was made during a recent Cabinet meeting, indicating the government’s commitment to collaborating with the private sector and development partners for the successful execution of the summit.

Finance Minister Mahat emphasized the need for swift policy, legal, and procedural reforms, along with meticulous project preparations, to ensure the summit’s success. He reiterated the summit’s primary goal of attracting foreign investors, non-resident Nepalis, and domestic private-sector investments.

The directive committee, chaired by Finance Minister Mahat, has actively called upon the private sector to play a proactive role in identifying potential foreign investors and projects. They have encouraged the private sector to offer concrete suggestions for consideration, further emphasizing the collaborative nature of the event.

A detailed presentation on the progress made in summit preparations was delivered during the committee meeting, showcasing the government’s dedication to making the third Investment Summit a key milestone in Nepal’s economic development.
