Government Proceeds to Claim Bansbari Shoe Factory Land; Issues Ultimatum to Update Records

In a significant development, the government has moved forward with processes to claim the land plots of Bansbari Leather and Shoe Factory, prompting action from the Land Revenue Office at Dillibazaar in Kathmandu.

On Thursday, the Land Revenue Office issued a letter to Chandbagh Residency Pvt Ltd, urging the updating of land records associated with the factory. The letter, presented to the Factory’s Chairman, Sanjay Thakur, in the presence of Shanta Khanal, the ward chairperson of Tokha Municipality-6, sets a strict timeline of 21 days for compliance.

The directive from the Land Revenue Office underscores the gravity of the situation in the Bansbari Leather Shoes land grab case, which reportedly involves the Chaudhary Group. Failure to adhere to the specified timeframe will result in legal repercussions, as outlined by the Office.

The letter, addressed to Champion Footwear Pvt. Ltd. in Kathmandu, aligns with the order dated 2080/10/24, emphasizing the imperative for the company to make a timely appearance during office hours within the designated 21-day period.

Non-compliance with this directive will lead to lawful actions being taken against the company, reflecting the government’s commitment to upholding transparency and accountability in land transactions.
