I am also a proponent of the Hindu nation: Deuba
President of the Nepali Congress, Sher Bahadur Deuba, has stated that he is also in favor of Nepal being a Hindu state.
During discussions with representatives of the Nepali Congress Vedic Sanatan Hindu Rashtra National Campaign at his residence, President Deuba expressed his support for the idea of a Hindu Rashtra Nepal.
However, a source affiliated with the campaign disclosed that President Deuba is unable to openly declare his support at present, deeming it an inappropriate time.
According to the source, quoting President Deuba’s statement, he said, “I am also a proponent of the Hindu nation, but openly endorsing it now may lead to conflict. It is a time to remain restrained.” Thus, he emphasized the need to wait for the opportune moment.
During the meeting, President Deuba was accompanied by campaign coordinator Shankar Bhandari, deputy coordinators Lokesh Dhakal and Devendra Kandel, treasurer Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal, along with members Muktadevi Yadav, Bhim Parajuli, and Gehendra Giri.
The campaign has garnered support from nine hundred and fifty members of the Mahasamiti meetings thus far.
