Parliament to Hear Transitional Justice Bill Soon: Prime Minister

Prime Minister and Chairman of CPN-Maoist Center, Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, has declared that the long-awaited bill concerning transitional justice will be swiftly brought before Parliament.

Speaking at a gathering in Kathmandu on Friday, the Prime Minister revealed that the bill, endorsed by the sub-committee, is slated for introduction in Parliament within the next five days.

Expressing optimism, he emphasized that the passage of this bill would honor the sacrifices made by the relatives of the martyrs of the Maoist movement.

Prime Minister Dahal underscored the adverse impact of delayed proceedings with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) and the Commission of Investigation on Enforced Disappeared Persons (CIEDP) on the support extended by the state to the families of martyrs.

Moreover, he highlighted plans for a public commemoration to mark the completion of the Peace Process on Martyrs’ Memorial Day.
