The anticipation for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming magnum opus, ‘Heeramandi’, reached new heights as the entire star-studded cast graced the ‘Next of Netflix’ event in Mumbai on Thursday. Among the luminaries present were the veteran actress Manisha Koirala, along with her co-stars Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadda, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sanjeeda Sheikh, and Sharmin Segal.
The event was marked by the unveiling of breathtaking character posters of the ensemble cast, further amplifying the excitement surrounding the much-awaited series. Manisha Koirala, who plays a pivotal role in the production, shared her enthusiasm about reuniting with Sanjay Leela Bhansali after 28 years since their collaboration on ‘Khamoshi: The Musical’ in 1996.
Reflecting on her journey with Bhansali, Koirala remarked, “To be working with Sanjay 25 years after his first film, Khamoshi, it can’t get better than that. It’s been a humongous journey, I’ve seen him grow as an artist, as a maestro, as a genius, he is India’s best, he is the greatest filmmaker in India.”
Sonakshi Sinha, who had the privilege to share the screen with Manisha Koirala in ‘Heeramandi’, expressed her admiration for the seasoned actress. “The body of work that she has behind her, the work that she has done and the films of hers that we have seen, she is so respected, stunning, beautiful, elegant, just wow,” said Sinha. “Watching her and being with her in the same frame was such a pleasure. It was an honor working with her.”
Meanwhile, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadda, and Sharmin Segal also lauded Sanjay Leela Bhansali for entrusting them with significant roles in the series, slated for release on Netflix later this year.
‘Heeramandi’ promises to be a visual spectacle, combining Bhansali’s unparalleled craftsmanship with the talent of a stellar ensemble cast. As the excitement mounts, fans eagerly await the unveiling of more glimpses into this eagerly anticipated saga.
