Narayan Dahal Elected Chairman of National Assembly

Narayan Dahal, representing the CPN (Maoist Center) and backed by the ruling alliance, has emerged victorious in the election for the Chairman of the National Assembly. The announcement came following a session marked by intense deliberations and voting.
Dahal’s victory was resounding, securing a total of 39 votes, comfortably surpassing the minimum requirement of 29 votes for the Chairmanship. His opponent, Yuvaraj Sharma from the Nepali Congress, garnered 17 votes, falling short in the race for the prestigious position.
The support garnered by Dahal from various political factions played a crucial role in his triumph. Notably, he received endorsements from CPN-UML, Janata Samajwadi Party, and the Unified Socialist Party, consolidating his position within the ruling alliance.
