Nagarik Unmukti Party wins federal parliament seat in Kailali-3
Ganga Ram Chaudhary of Nagarik Unmukti Party has won the election to the Member of the House of Representatives in Kailali electoral constituency-3.
Chaudhary defeated his nearest rival CPN (Maoist Centre)’s Krishna Kumar Chaudhary who was competing in the election on behalf of the left-democratic alliance by a huge margin. He obtained 23,120 votes while the UML candidate got 17,749, according to election officer Laxmi Narayan Dahal.
Gauri Shankar Chaudhary of the CPN (UML) finished the race with 9,874.
A total of 63,740 votes were cast here during the voting held on Monday while the number of valid votes was 59,719.
With the completion of vote counts for the HoR poll, now the counting for the Province Assembly goes in Kailali-3. Vote counting in other four constituencies in the district continues.
