RSP Selects Milan Limbu for Ilam 2 By-Election
The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has selected Milan Limbu as their candidate for the upcoming by-election in Ilam constituency no. 2, slated for April 27th.
Limbu, who recently split from the CPN-Maoist Center, was initially poised to contest the election as an independent candidate. However, RSP President Rabi Lamichhane successfully persuaded him to join the party’s ranks by offering him a ticket for the coveted Ilam 2 constituency.
The decision comes after the RSP’s internal search for a suitable candidate yielded no satisfactory results, leading them to extend party membership to Limbu and nominate him for the crucial by-election.
Previously, the RSP had identified six potential contenders for the Ilam 2 by-election. Among them were Gokul Bahadur Rai, Jamuna Sharma, Mahendra Kumar Thapa, Maan Bahadur Ghimire, Milan Limbu, and Shesraman Neupane Shrestha.
