NC’s Rajendra Bajgain elected from Gorkha 1 with a wide margin
Rajendra Bajgain of Nepali Congress, a candidate of the House of Representatives (HoR) from Gorkha constituency 1 emerged victorious with a wide margin.
In the latest voting results, Bajgain received 33,428 votes. His closest rival Ram Sharan Basnet of CPN-UML got 16,785 votes.
Bajgain defeated UML’s Basnet by a wide margin of 16,643 votes.
Bajgain had contested the election on behalf of the ruling alliance. He is also internationally known as a successful tourism businessman.

In the election of 2074, Bajgain from Nepali Congress lost with the same Basnet from the Gorkha-1 Provincial Assembly(B). At that time Basnet was the candidate of the UML and Maoists alliance.
