Emir of Qatar at Sheetal Niwas, Meeting with President Paudel Underway

The meeting between President Ram Chandra Paudel and the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, is currently taking place at the President’s Office, Sheetal Niwas.

Earlier in the afternoon, upon his arrival at Sheetal Niwas, President Paudel welcomed the Emir of Qatar.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Minister of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Shakti Bahadur Basnet, and other senior officials are participating in the meeting.

It is expected that they will discuss issues related to diplomatic relations and mutual interests.

The Emir of Qatar arrived at Sheetal Niwas directly from Tribhuvan International Airport.

Earlier, special officials including President Paudel, Vice President Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav, and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ welcomed Emir Al Thani in the VIP room of the airport.

President Paudel will host a dinner in honor of Emir Thani tonight. Bilateral talks are scheduled between Emir Al Thani of Qatar and Prime Minister Dahal on Wednesday.

At the invitation of President Paudel, Emir Al Thani of Qatar is visiting Kathmandu today on a two-day state visit to Nepal.
