Qatari Emir Expresses Gratitude for Warm Reception in Nepal
The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, expressed his gratitude towards Nepal following his recent visit, marking his first official tour to the Himalayan nation.
Through a message posted on social media platform X after his return to Doha, the Emir highlighted the warm reception and the productive discussions held with Nepali leaders.
“All thanks and appreciation to Nepal and its leaders and people for the warm reception during my first visit to this friendly country, which allowed me to learn about aspects of its rich history, and discuss with President Ram Chandra Poudel and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal about developing and enhancing our economic relations through diverse partnerships that elevate bilateral cooperation to the desired level,” Sheikh Tamim stated.
During his two-day state visit, which concluded on Wednesday, the Emir engaged in extensive talks with Nepali officials, focusing on strengthening economic ties and exploring new avenues for cooperation between Qatar and Nepal. The discussions also encompassed potential investments and collaborative projects that could benefit both nations.
The visit is seen as a significant step in fortifying the relationship between Qatar and Nepal, with both countries expressing keen interest in expanding their interactions beyond the current labor and economic engagements. Qatar hosts a large number of Nepali migrant workers, and the talks have been pivotal in addressing their rights and welfare, alongside broadening the scope of bilateral relations.
