IGP Kunwar Returns After Global Interpol Conference in France
Inspector General of Police, Basanta Bahadur Kunwar, has returned to Nepal after representing the country at the 19th Head of NCB (National Central Bureau) Conference, which was held in Leon, France from Baishakh 11 to 13.
Upon his arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport, IGP Kunwar was warmly welcomed by a group of high-ranking officials including the Additional Inspector General of Police, Deputy Inspector General of Police, and other senior officers.
The international conference brought together the heads of Interpol NCB from all 196 member countries, along with the Interpol General Secretary and various officers. The focus of this year’s conference was to enhance global cooperation and coordination in combating transnational organized crime.
Key topics of discussion included broadening the access to Interpol’s I-24/7 communication system for rapid sharing of criminal data, strategies for intercepting criminal proceeds, ensuring the protection of children, and enhancing data protection measures.
During the event, IGP Kunwar took the opportunity to engage in bilateral discussions with his counterparts from India, China, and Malaysia, aiming to strengthen collaboration and address shared security challenges.
The outcomes of this conference are expected to significantly contribute to the global efforts in fighting organized crime, with enhanced tools and international support.
