PM Modi Criticizes INDI Alliance Over ‘Vote Jihad’ Appeal by Maria Alam Khan

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on the opposition coalition, INDI alliance, accusing them of harboring “dangerous intentions” following an alleged appeal for ‘vote jihad’ by Congress leader Salman Khurshid’s niece and Samajwadi Party leader Maria Alam Khan.

Addressing a public rally in Gujarat’s Anand, PM Modi condemned the purported statement by Maria Alam Khan, claiming it reflected the divisive tactics of the INDI alliance. “A leader from the INDI alliance has exposed their strategy in front of the country. The INDI alliance has asked Muslims to go for Vote Jihad. This has come from an educated family, not from a child coming out of a Madrasa. INDI alliance is saying that all Muslims should get together and vote,” PM Modi asserted.

He further criticized the alliance for purportedly undermining democracy and the Constitution, alleging that Congress leaders had remained silent on the matter, indicating their tacit approval. PM Modi emphasized the gravity of the situation, suggesting that the INDI alliance was attempting to divide communities and manipulate the electoral process.

The Prime Minister’s remarks come in the wake of an FIR filed against Salman Khurshid and Maria Alam Khan for the latter’s alleged speech during a public rally in Uttar Pradesh’s Kayamganj on April 30, where she purportedly urged the minority community to engage in “vote jihad.”

PM Modi also seized the opportunity to assail the previous UPA government, accusing it of providing “dossiers” to terrorists and insinuating a collusion between Congress and Pakistan. He asserted that the Congress party’s decline in India was being celebrated by Pakistani leaders, alleging a covert partnership between the two.

Describing the Congress as a “factory of fake goods,” PM Modi accused the party of peddling lies under the guise of love. He lambasted the Congress for its alleged divisive tactics and questioned its commitment to upholding the Constitution.

As Gujarat gears up for the third phase of the general elections on May 7, PM Modi urged voters to reject the politics of division and embrace the vision of a united India under the leadership of the BJP.

The upcoming elections in Gujarat will witness voting for 25 out of 26 seats, with results scheduled to be announced on June 4.
