Government Unveils Plans for Agro-Industrial Development and Food Security
In a significant move aimed at boosting agricultural productivity and ensuring food security, the government has unveiled plans to establish key infrastructural projects across various regions.
President Ramchandra Paudel announced the government’s policy and program for the upcoming fiscal year of 2081/082 BS at the federal parliament today. Among the highlights of the announcement are the establishment of an agro-industrial park in Gorkha, a mega food park in Sudurpaschim, and a food and fruits processing center in Karnali.
These projects aim to modernize agricultural practices, enhance value addition, and facilitate the processing and distribution of agricultural produce. The agro-industrial park in Gorkha, in particular, holds promise for driving economic growth and employment opportunities in the region.
Additionally, the government has underscored its commitment to ensuring the continuity of food and salt supply in hilly districts. This initiative aims to address food scarcity issues and enhance access to essential commodities in remote areas.
