Home Minister Leads Inspection at Tribhuvan International Airport
Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane took proactive steps in overseeing operations at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) as he led an extensive inspection of various crucial areas within the airport premises.
During his visit, Deputy Prime Minister Lamichhane inspected key sections including departure and arrival halls, boarding counters, immigration checkpoints, security offices, customs areas, and baggage management zones. Engaging with essential personnel such as the airport security chief, immigration officials, and civil aviation authorities, discussions revolved around staffing, operational protocols, and challenges faced by these departments.
Expressing deep concern over passenger grievances and security protocols, Minister Lamichhane emphasized the importance of adopting technology for streamlined processes and modernizing immigration procedures. He also addressed the issue of traffic congestion caused by farewell gatherings and advocated for enhancing the aesthetics of the arrival and departure halls to reflect the airport’s evolution into a technologically advanced hub.
