Nepali Congress Obstruction Postpones House of Representatives Meeting
16th May 2024
A scheduled meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) faced a delay tonight due to obstruction by the main opposition party, Nepali Congress (NC).
Speaker Dev Raj Ghimire announced the postponement and rescheduled the meeting for 11 am on Friday.
Originally slated to commence at 4 pm, the meeting began two hours late amidst failed attempts by parties to resolve the parliamentary impasse.
Nepali Congress has been obstructing parliamentary sessions, pressing for the establishment of a committee to probe the alleged involvement of Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane in a cooperative fraud case.
