In a significant move aimed at propelling Nepal’s economic growth, the government has announced a budget of Rs. 1,860 billion for the upcoming fiscal year of 2081/82 BS. This ambitious budget allocation reflects the government’s commitment to address various sectors and stimulate development across the nation.

Breaking down the budget allocation, a substantial portion of Rs. 1,140 billion has been earmarked for recurrent expenses, ensuring the smooth functioning of essential services and government operations. Additionally, Rs. 352 billion has been allocated for capital expenditure, indicating a focus on infrastructure development and long-term investments.

Furthermore, the government has allocated Rs. 367 billion for financial expenditure, emphasizing the importance of fiscal management and strategic financial planning.

To finance these expenses, the government aims to collect Rs. 1,260 billion as revenue from various sources, demonstrating a proactive approach towards enhancing revenue generation. Additionally, the mobilization of Rs. 52 billion in foreign grants highlights the government’s efforts to leverage international support for national development initiatives.

However, to bridge the remaining financial gap, the government plans to secure over Rs. 200 billion in foreign loans and over Rs. 300 billion in internal loans. While this indicates a reliance on both domestic and international borrowing, it also underscores the government’s determination to ensure adequate funding for key projects and initiatives.
