Large Marijuana Haul Seized in Udayapur
The Armed Police Force’s Security Base in Rampur intercepted a major marijuana smuggling attempt in Belka Municipality-8, Sisauli Ghat, Udayapur. The operation, conducted during a routine patrol, resulted in the confiscation of approximately 280 kilograms of marijuana.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Shailendra Thapa, Co-Spokesperson for the Armed Police Force, revealed that acting on a specific tip-off, law enforcement officials discovered the contraband carefully concealed in six sacks within the dense foliage of the Sisauli Ghat forest.
Notably, alongside the illicit substance, authorities also uncovered two tubes and a small wheelbarrow, hinting at the sophisticated methods employed by the smugglers. This discovery has raised suspicions of a larger smuggling network possibly utilizing the Koshi River route for transportation.
The successful interception underscores the vigilant efforts of law enforcement agencies in combatting illegal drug trafficking within the region. Further investigations are underway to dismantle any associated criminal networks and prevent the proliferation of such illicit activities.
