Indian Embassy Leads Tree Plantation on World Environment Day in Lalitpur
The ceremony saw the participation of Nawal Kishor Sah Sudi, Minister of Forest and Environment, Government of Nepal; Chribabu Maharjan, Mayor of Lalitpur Metropolitan City; and Naveen Srivastava, Ambassador of India to Nepal. The event also attracted several political representatives, government officials, social workers, and environment enthusiasts, all underscoring a shared commitment to environmental protection and preservation.
In his address, Ambassador Srivastava highlighted the significance of organizing such events on World Environment Day. He emphasized the need to raise awareness about environmental protection and encourage both individual and collective efforts to safeguard the planet for future generations.
Minister Sudi and Mayor Maharjan, in their respective speeches, stressed the importance of cooperation and partnerships in environmental conservation. They reiterated the necessity of joint efforts in protecting the planet to ensure a sustainable future.
During the event, participants planted 150 trees, symbolizing their dedication to nurturing a greener environment. The successful ceremony not only celebrated World Environment Day but also strengthened the bonds between Nepal and India through a unified environmental initiative.
