Modi Resigns as Prime Minister; Third Consecutive Term Expected

The President has accepted the resignation and requested the Prime Minister and the Union Council of Ministers to continue in office until the new government is formed.
Sources indicate that despite the resignation, Modi is likely to be sworn in as Prime Minister for a third consecutive term on June 8.
The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) managed to secure victory, scraping past the majority mark with 292 seats, paving the way for Modi’s return to power.
