Nepal Stock Exchange Reports Dip
On Thursday, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) witnessed a downturn, closing at 2,077.78 points, a decline of 1.93 points. This was echoed in the sensitive index, which dropped by 1.27 points, concluding at 370.34 points.
Trading was active, with 8,813,374-unit shares of 322 companies changing hands, amounting to a transaction value of Rs 4.38 billion.
Despite the overall decline, Emerging Nepal Limited (ENL), Bhagawati Hydropower Development Company Limited (BGWT), and Mid Solu Hydropower Limited (MSHL) emerged as top performers, each experiencing a significant surge of 10.00 percent in their prices. Conversely, Mai Khola Hydropower Limited (MKHL) experienced a notable decline, with its price dropping by 6.40 percent.
Despite the fluctuations, the total market capitalization by the day’s end stood at a substantial Rs 3.29 trillion, indicating the resilience and potential of the Nepalese stock market amidst prevailing volatility.
