Four Arrested at TIA for Smuggling Gold
Authorities at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) have apprehended four individuals for their involvement in the illegal possession of smuggled gold. The suspects were intercepted by law enforcement while attempting to collect the illicitly transported gold within the premises of TIA.
The individuals, identified as Saroj Koirala and Mohammad Inteyaj Alam, were caught red-handed with significant quantities of gold. Koirala, hailing from Kerabari Rural Municipality-9, Morang, and Alam, a resident of Katahariya Municipality-6, Rautahat, were found in possession of a gold chain weighing approximately 25 grams and 60.99 grams of raw gold.
Further complicating the situation, Mohammad Arman from Surunga Municipality-5, Saptari, and Jyaudin Miya from Khadak Municipality-6, were also arrested for their involvement. They were caught with a gold chain during a transaction in the TIA parking area.
Currently detained, all four suspects are undergoing questioning as investigations into the matter continue to unfold. Authorities remain vigilant in their efforts to combat illegal activities within the airport premises.
