Corruption Case Filed Against Chief Secretary Dr. Baikuntha Aryal
The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a significant corruption case at the Special Court, implicating Chief Secretary Dr. Baikuntha Aryal in alleged irregularities related to the printing of excise duty stickers. The case asserts that Dr. Aryal, during his tenure as Secretary of the Ministry of Communication, was involved in mismanagement regarding the procurement and handling of these stickers.
In addition to Chief Secretary Dr. Aryal, the CIAA has named Joint Secretaries Ritesh Shakya and Tanka Paudel, Undersecretary Ganesh Bikram Shah, and Section Officer Rabindra Paudel as defendants in the case. The charges also extend to Bikal Paudel, who was dismissed from the Security Printing Center under circumstances linked to Dr. Aryal’s tenure.
