Nepal Stock Exchange Gains 23.25 Points, Closes at 2,175.40 on Wednesday
The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) closed trading on a positive note, posting gains of 23.25 points to reach 2,175.40 points on Wednesday. Share prices of 194 companies advanced, while 46 declined and five remained unchanged.
Hathaway Investment Nepal Ltd led the market with the highest gain, trading shares worth Rs 150.89 million. Janaki Finance Ltd and NRN Infrastructure & Development followed, with turnovers of Rs 148.28 million and Rs 11.93 million, respectively.
All trading groups posted gains except the Development Bank sub-index, which dipped by a marginal 0.29%. The Banking sub-index saw the largest increase, rising by 1.69%. Microfinance and Non-Life Insurance sub-indices also performed well, gaining 1.54% and 1.29%, respectively.
The bourse saw a total of 72,714 transactions, with 15.29 million units of shares traded, amounting to a total value of Rs 5.74 billion.
