Janamat Party to Vote Against PM Dahal, Decides to Withdraw Support
The Janamat Party, under the leadership of CK Raut, has announced its decision not to provide a vote of confidence to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’. The party has resolved to withdraw its support from the current government.
The decision was made during a crucial party meeting held in Kathmandu on Thursday. Dr. Sharad Singh Yadav, the spokesperson for the Janamat Party, confirmed that the party’s members unanimously agreed to oppose Prime Minister Dahal in the upcoming vote of confidence.
This move comes amidst a rapidly changing political landscape in Nepal. The recent formation of a new alliance between the Nepali Congress and the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN-UML) has led to a realignment of political forces. Several parties, including the CPN-UML, have retracted their support for the current government.
With the coalition partners pulling back their support, Prime Minister Dahal is now compelled to seek a vote of confidence in the Parliament on July 12. This vote will be critical in determining the stability of Dahal’s government and its future course.
The withdrawal of support by the Janamat Party adds to the growing list of challenges faced by Prime Minister Dahal’s administration. As the date for the vote of confidence approaches, political observers are keenly watching how the dynamics will unfold in the Nepalese Parliament.
