Unified Socialist Decides Not to Join New Government
12th Jul 2024
The CPN (Unified Socialist) has opted not to join the new government, according to party leader Metmani Chaudhary. Instead, the party will support the government based on its merits and demerits.
Despite this decision, the party has directed its lawmakers to vote in favor of the government led by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.
PM Dahal is currently seeking a vote of confidence in parliament. The discussion is ongoing.
This vote follows the government’s loss of majority due to the withdrawal of support from several parties, including the CPN (UML) and the Janata Samajbadi Party Nepal.
The CPN (Unified Socialist) holds 10 seats in the House of Representatives.
