Gold Prices Reach New Record High in Nepal

On the last trading day of the week, gold prices in Nepal soared to unprecedented levels, with a notable increase of Rs 1,800 per tola. According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Associations, the price of gold settled at Rs 146,700 per tola on Friday, marking a sharp rise from Rs 144,900 per tola the previous day, reflecting an increase of Rs 800.

Similarly, silver prices also witnessed a marginal uptick, with silver trading at Rs 1,900 per tola on Friday compared to Rs 1,885 per tola on Thursday, representing an increase of Rs 17 per tola.

Internationally, the price of gold surged to $2,409.76 per ounce on Friday, up from $2,381.44 per ounce on Thursday, mirroring the upward trend seen in the local market. Likewise, silver prices rose slightly to $31.21 per ounce on Friday.

The rise in gold and silver prices locally and internationally is attributed to the ongoing upward trend in the global market, signaling heightened investor interest amidst economic uncertainties.
