NC Affirms Commitment to Constitution, Urges Calm Over NC-UML Alliance
In a recent parliamentary session, Nepali Congress (NC) lawmaker Ramesh Lekhak reaffirmed the party’s unwavering dedication to upholding the Constitution of Nepal, dismissing any insinuations of external influence on their stance.
Lekhak, a prominent figure within the NC, emphasized the party’s long-standing advocacy for democracy since its inception. “The Nepali Congress has consistently championed democracy. Any accusations suggesting otherwise are baseless. We are the architects of this constitution, and we will staunchly defend it,” he asserted.
Regarding concerns surrounding NC’s recent alliance with the UML, Lekhak sought to allay fears, highlighting the historical precedent of major parties coming together. “When two major parties unite, it is a positive development. Such alliances have a strong historical basis and contribute to advancing our collective interests,” he concluded.
