Financial assistance of Rs 100 thousand to cancer patients in Bagmati province
Newly-appointed Health Minister in the Bagmati provincial government, Kiran Thapa, has announced a financial assistance of Rs 100 thousand to the cancer patients of economically poor families in the province.
Minister Thapa made this decision while assuming office today. “Previously, the provincial government used to provide Rs 50 thousand to the cancer patients from the poor families of the province. I have made a decision to provide Rs 100 thousand from now on,” he told RSS.
He said that a budgetary outlay of Rs 110 million would be required for this and he would present a proposal on this in the Cabinet.
Similarly, he said that a decision has been taken to form a coordination committee at the district level for the prevention and minimization of mental and non-communicable diseases.
Province Health Minister Thapa also said that the ‘My Health, My Responsibility’ campaign will be extended to all the local levels in the Bagmati province.
Elected the Province Assembly Member from Bhaktapur constituency number 2 (A), Thapa has been appointed the province minister for the first time.
