Two killed in bus accident in Pokhara
Two people were killed and 28 others injured when a school bus met with an accident in Pokhara, Kaski today.
The bus (registration number Ga 1 Ka 6219) was carrying students of the LP Devkota Memorial School based at Birauta, Pokhara-17. It fell 50 metres down from the road when the driver lost control of the bus at Gudku in the inner route.
Aarati BK, 33, and her son, six-year-old Prince BK died in the mishap, said Deputy Superintendent Basanta Kumar Sharma, the Spokesman at the District Police Office, Kaski. A resident of Pokhara-21, Aarati was the office assistant at the school.
Both mother and son died while under treatment at the Gandaki Medical College Hospital.
Among the injured students, teachers, parents and the bus driver who were injured in the accident, 13 are being treated at Gandaki Medical College Hospital, 12 at the West Regional Hospital while three are under treatment at the Manipal Teaching Hospital, according to the police.
