Gandaki Province Government Constructs 20 New Motorable Bridges
In the last fiscal year, the Gandaki Province Government successfully constructed 20 motorable bridges, enhancing connectivity across the region. According to the Physical Infrastructure Development and Transport Management Ministry, these bridges are designed to be operational throughout the year, irrespective of seasonal changes.
The new bridges are distributed across various districts, with eight each in Gorkha and Tanahun, six in Nawalpur and Baglung, four in Myagdi and Kaski, and two in Lamjung and Manang.
Acting Director of the Infrastructure Development Directorate, Dr. Mahendra Baniya, highlighted that notable bridges include those over Bhutekhola and Bijayapurkhola in Kaski. In Nawalpur, the newly constructed bridges span Niramdikhola, Jayashreekhola, and Girbarikhola. Additionally, Baglung district saw the development of bridges at Righa Sarpechunga, Gaudikhola, and Chuktikhola.
These infrastructure improvements are expected to significantly benefit local communities by improving access and transportation within the province.
