UN Resident Representative Hanna Singer Hamdy Meets with PM KP Sharma Oli

United Nations Resident Representative to Nepal, Hanna Singer Hamdy, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli at Singha Durbar on Wednesday.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Oli reaffirmed Nepal’s commitment to international agreements and declarations. He expressed optimism for continued UN support to realize the vision of a “Prosperous Nepal: Happy Nepali.”

Oli emphasized that the newly formed government is dedicated to the country’s prosperity, good governance, development, and stability. He also highlighted the government’s readiness to finalize laws related to transitional justice through political consensus.

UN Representative Hamdy assured continued UN support for Nepal’s development and prosperity. She noted the UN’s ongoing assistance in poverty alleviation, energy, health, disaster risk reduction, and other social sectors.

Hamdy also acknowledged Nepal’s significant contributions to international peace and security through its peacekeeping forces in accordance with UN policies.
