Human Skeleton Found Buried in Beni Municipality Forest

A human skeleton was discovered buried in a forested area at Ankhkhet Kalimul in Beni Municipality-9, sparking an investigation by local authorities. Alongside the remains, a gold chain, clothes, and slippers were found near the burial site.

The discovery was made on Sunday afternoon by locals who had ventured into the forest in search of aquatic food. They spotted the clothes and the disturbed earth, which led them to notify the police and local representatives.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Bharat Shrestha from the District Police Office stated that the human remains, jewelry, and clothing would be sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory for examination. “We will send the human remains and materials recovered from the site for testing on Monday itself,” DSP Shrestha confirmed. The police have also intensified efforts to gather more evidence and uncover further details related to the case.

The discovery has raised suspicions among the relatives of Meena Pariyar, a 19-year-old from Beni Municipality-9, Ghatan, who has been missing since December last year. Meena’s family, who visited the site, claimed that the jewelry and clothes matched those that belonged to her. They suspect that Meena may have been murdered and buried in the forest.

A young man from the same municipality, who had been arrested earlier on charges of forcibly disappearing Meena, has already been remanded in custody by court order. DSP Shrestha noted that the exact identity of the remains and any connections to the missing girl would be confirmed following the forensic report.

The case has drawn significant attention as authorities continue their investigation into the grim discovery.
