Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba Meets Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi During Delhi Visit
Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba, currently on an official visit to India, held a courtesy meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday evening. The meeting took place at 7:30 PM in New Delhi, marking a significant moment in Nepal-India relations.
Rana, who arrived in Delhi on Sunday, discussed with Prime Minister Modi the multifaceted aspects of the longstanding relationship between Nepal and India. She highlighted the historical ties and ongoing cooperation between the two nations, expressing her optimism that her visit and the high-level discussions would help further elevate and strengthen these bilateral relations.
Earlier on Monday, Minister Rana also met with Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, their discussions focused on various areas of mutual interest, cooperation, and the enhancement of bilateral ties between the neighboring countries.
This visit to India is Rana’s first foreign trip since assuming office as Nepal’s Foreign Minister. It also represents the first high-level visit from Nepal to India since the formation of the government under the leadership of UML President KP Sharma Oli.
Rana expressed hope that her visit would contribute to deepening and expanding the collaboration between Nepal and India, solidifying the relationship and exploring new avenues for partnership.
